Smoked Cream Cheese

The latest TikTok craze has reached a fever pitch, and I’m so glad that it is not bacon-wrapped Oreos this time. Everywhere I look, people are smoking cream cheese, and you know that I had to get in on this crazy.

I LOVE appetizers, and easy appetizers are even better. This Smoked Cream Cheese doesn’t get any easier. It is literally just a block of cream cheese, some olive oil, and your favorite rub. On the smoker at 180-200° for a couple of hours and BAM. You have the newest viral recipe right on your table, just waiting for you to share it.

How to make Smoked Cream Cheese

This is just the overview so you can see what you’re actually getting into here. When you are cooking, you’ll want to use the full recipe at the bottom of the page.

1

Preheat your smoker

180° is ideal. 200° works too.

2

Non-stick foil is your friend

Put it onto a baking sheet and line with non-stick foil. Parchment paper also works pretty well here.

3

Brush with olive oil

And make some 1/2 inch cross-hatches in the top of the cream cheese if you’d like.

4

Rub

We loved the Roasted Garlic blend from The Spice Guy. It was perfect in this dip!

5

Smoke

2 hours is good. 1 1/2 would work in a pinch. Go for 3 if you are brave. You can serve this warm or cold, mix it into a dip or spread it onto a bagel. Whatever. You can eat it with a spoon if you want. I won’t judge.

Smoked Cream Cheese FAQ

Can you use low-fat cream cheese?

I wouldn’t. I haven’t tested it, so it is possible that it could work, but I can’t vouch. Let me know if you do!

Is smoked cream cheese dip better eaten hot or cold?

Both! You can make this and serve it immediately or you can make it ahead of time and chill it before you serve it.

Dooooo it! It would be the perfect addition to something like that. I took one of the bricks I smoked and turned it into artichoke dip that was the best I've EVER had. Stay tuned for that post soon! ;) Thanks for visiting, and let me know how your veggie pizza goes!
