Put your rinsed rice, water, salt, and avocado oil into a pot over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, uncovered. Once the rice simmers, cover and reduce the heat to low. Cook, without peeking, for 10 minutes.

Turn the heat and leave the rice covered in the pot for 15 minutes.

  • 1 cup uncooked long grain rice, rinsed
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon Lime Salt (or regular kosher salt)
  • 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice


  1. Place your rinsed rice along with the water, avocado oil, and salt into a pot with a lid on the stove over medium heat.
  2. Bring the rice to a simmer, uncovered, and then reduce the heat to low and cover.
  3. Let the rice cook over low heat for 10 minutes and then turn the heat off. DO NOT UNCOVER.
  4. Let the rice sit, covered, on the stove for 15 minutes.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork and gently mix in the cilantro and lime juice.
