Our delicious, homemade Traeger Marry Me Chicken is the perfect dinner that combines the smokiness of a pellet grill with the richness of Italian-inspired flavors. Perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner, this recipe is famous for inducing proposals because of how delicious it is. The pellet grill infuses the whole dish with a touch of wood-fired flavor you don’t get from the oven, and is such a nice touch to a classic meal.
Traeger Marry Me Chicken
Whether you’re looking to impress someone special or want to enjoy a delicious and comforting meal, Traeger Marry Me Chicken fits the bill. It’s also relatively easy to make, even a new cook can pull this off and have a delicious meal when you’re done! The combination of sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and Parmigiano Reggiano creates a sauce that is both rich and flavorful, pairing beautifully with the tender chicken.
The trick to pulling this off is ensuring that you don’t overcook the chicken. Overcooked chicken is dry chicken, and even a sauce as tasty as this won’t cover up that sin. Get a good wireless thermometer like the ThermoWorks Signal or a Meater 2. That’ll let you monitor, in real-time, the exact temperature of your chicken so you can pull it off of the grill at the perfect moment.
We like to serve this dish with a big pile of Traeger Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, but it would be just as good without a starch, with some Wild Rice Pilaf, or on a bed of Brown Butter Mizithra Pasta.

Marry Me Chicken FAQ
Can I make this dish without a pellet grill?
Yes, you can adapt the recipe for a conventional oven and it’ll still turn out amazing! You can also cook this JUST on the stovetop by covering it and reducing the heat to low/medium-low.
Is there a substitute for sun-dried tomatoes?
Not really. Sun-dried tomatoes are a very unique ingredient and lend a specific flavor (and color) to this dish. You can omit them, but it’ll be a much different end result.
Can this dish be made in advance?
Yes! This dish keeps well for a haul to a party or potluck across town. A casserole-style slow cooker works great for this. It’ll keep the dish warm without overcooking it and drying out the chicken.
If you want to make this dish for meal-prep, that’s also a good option. I wouldn’t freeze it due to the cream, but it would be a delicious take-along lunch from home if you have access to a microwave for reheating.
