Traeger Barbecue Chicken Sandwich

There are so many different things you can do with a Traeger Grilled Chicken. This is the first thing we made, and it definitely won’t be the last. This easy grilled chicken recipe comes off the grill perfectly tender and juicy.

Traeger Barbecue Chicken Sandwich

Get ready for all the grilling and bbq recipes, you guys, because we are a little obsessed. We’ve always been fans of grilling out, but now that we’ve got a wood pellet grill it is like GAME ON here. Any excuse to fire that thing up, and we’re on the deck and pulling out the meat.

One of our favorite things is grilling whole chicken. Traeger Grilled Chickens don’t get used for just fall-off-the-bone tender main courses. There are so many easy, delicious meals you can make this better-than-rotisserie-chicken, I usually suggest making two chickens at once, so you can use the leftovers to make dinner several nights this week.

How to make a BBQ Chicken Sandwich

This is just the overview so you can see what you’re actually getting into here. When you are cooking, you’ll want to use the full recipe at the bottom of the page.

1

Pull the chicken

Take your whole grilled chicken and pull it. Season with some more of your favorite rub, and set aside.

2

Toast the buns

No sandwich is complete without a toasted bun. So get toasting and then smear with your favorite mayo and some pickles.

3

Pile it up

Pile the seasoned chicken onto your toasted buns. Top with your favorite barbecue sauce, a slice of cheese, and the other half of the bun.

4

Enjoy

Eat it uppppp! This sandwich is great both hot and cold, so the more the merrier (and the leftovers are fabulous!)

Try it with our homemade bbq sauce!

What should you serve with a Smoked Chicken Sandwich?

You’re definitely going to want a few sides with this delicious meal. If you don’t have any leftovers from the barbecue, whip up a batch of this tuna salad.

Or another family favorite – my Smoked Potato Salad.

If you want something greener, my Perfect Grilled Asparagus is always a hit!
