Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Spicy Italian Sausage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons chopped Calabrian Chiles in oil
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 24- ounce jar Rao’s Marinara Sauce
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons beef bouillon
  • 8 ounces high-quality pasta
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage. Drain excess fat from the pan.
  • Add the olive oil to the pan and throw in the bell peppers and onions. Sauté for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and cook another 1-2 minutes before adding the Calabrian Chiles, red pepper flakes, marinara, water, and beef bouillon to the pot.
  • Bring up to a simmer and add your pasta right into the pot.
  • Reduce the heat to a simmer and let cook, stirring frequently, until the pasta is al dente. 
  • Top with shredded parmesan and garnish with fresh basil.
