Well, convenience, for one. I’m notorious for just filling my cart, no matter how many items are on my list. The more I stay out of the grocery store, the more I’m able to stick to my grocery budget and skip on the extras.

How to make filet mignon on the grill

We love steak, and the filet mignon is one of my favorite cuts. For this cut, there are a lot of ways you can cook it, but the key is to not overcook the meat. Filets are a pretty lean steak, and cooking them past medium is a waste.

  1. Season the steak with salt, pepper, and optionally your favorite steak rub.
  2. Place the steak on a searing hot grill and cook for a few minutes a side, until the internal temperature reaches the desired “pull at” temp (see below).
  3. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before cutting or serving.

If you’d rather not fire up the grill for this, our Blackstone Griddle is a great way to make a good steak! Check out this recipe for a Wagyu Manhattan Filet from a little while back.
