Broiled Lingcod with Lemon is one of the best, easy, delicious, and healthy dinners that you can make. Simple white fish, seasoned, topped with thinly sliced lemon, and then broiled.
Fresh Lingcod with Lemon
Clearly, we’re pretty obsessed with fish around here. Lingcod and salmon are the two most common fish that we tend to cook with because that’s what Jeremiah and the boys tend to catch the most, and I’m fully aware of how much better our home-cooked fish is because of it.
In this easy recipe, we take fresh ling cod fillets and season them with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, and then top that with a little butter and some lemon before hitting the broiler for a brief 5-7 minute tanning session that leaves them perfectly flaky with bright pops of citrus in the mix.
Top with a fancy flavored smoked chardonnay salt or this sriracha salt for even more versatility.

I like to know what I’m in for when I’m considering which recipe to use for dinner. This is the quick play-by-play so you know what’s ahead! When you actually make the dish, please use the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
It has the full details, and all the tips to ensure you have the best chance of success.
1
Preheat the oven
It doesn’t take long, but you do want to pre-heat even when you are broiling.
2
Season the fish
Put the fish on a broiler pan, season both sides, put a pat of butter on top, and then top with a few thin slices of lemon.
3
Broil it!
Never walk away from a broiler. Ever. Put the fish on the middle rack under the broiler for 5-7 minutes.
What can you serve with broiled lingcod?
We made some simple seasoned and steamed broccoli to serve with this baked fish. It was easy and delicious and the whole family loves steamed broccoli.
Another great option is my grilled asparagus. If you don’t want to fire up the grill, you can make this in the oven too. Just follow the grilling directions as far as time and temp go.
