Bacon Sausage Bites are a savory sweet bite-sized appetizer that is going to have everyone reaching for more. You’d better make two trays, just to be safe.
Traeger Bacon Sausage Bites
Bacon is magical. Sausage is wonderful. Bacon wrapped around sausage covered in brown sugar and baked inside a Traeger grill? That is what tailgating daydreams are made of.
Easy to prepare and cooking only involves starting the grill, putting them inside, and setting a timer for ninety minutes. The thing you need to make as soon as you can, is here.
Recently, I made these for a group of my co-workers while we were on a “guys weekend” at a cabin that one of them owns. I made a large tray, and they did not last long. In fact, they never had a chance. They nicknamed them “meat candy”. I said, “inappropriate”. We all had a good laugh and filled our mouths with more “meat candy”.
Now that I have a Traeger grill, I am constantly thinking of all of my favorite things I’ve enjoyed eating over the years, and how much better they’ll be if I make them on the Traeger. I’ve had these appetizers many times in my life and have always enjoyed them. I knew they were the perfect match for the Traeger, and I wasn’t disappointed. The added smoke flavor from the real wood fired pellets put them over the top.
Have I mentioned that their are more flavors than ingredients in these? It’s bacon, sausage, and brown sugar. Every bite is sweet, salty, smokey, and savory.
These are tailor made for tailgating, or bring them to any party you’re going to. You’ll have to ice your hand from all the high fives you’re gonna get for bringing these with you. Let the uninspired bring the chips and salsa. You bring the “meat candy”.
