Most days lunch consists of leftovers dug of the fridge and heated up as quickly as possible to eat in front of my desk. Such is life when you have five kids, a job, and a blog on top of that. Its busy! That is why I was so excited to be invited to try the new Campbell’s® Slow Kettle® soup.

I stopped by Walmart and found this soup right in the soup isle. There were some really really great varieties to choose from. I’m pretty picky when it comes to soup, and most of the kind you can buy in that aisle just doesn’t pass the test for me. This stuff, however, I am totally on board with. This is real food, with fresh, quality ingredients. It is complex and robust, and crafted by Chefs.

The Tomato and Sweet Basil went perfectly with my favorite grilled cheese sandwich. Classic grilled cheese and tomato soup has always been one of my very favorite lunch combinations, and this was like a grown-up version of a childhood classic.

For best results, heat this up on the stove. It takes a couple of minutes extra, but it is totally worth it. If you are eating your Slow Kettle on the go, you can look for new packaging with microwave directions coming soon to a Walmart near you! Caution though…these really aren’t made to heat in the original container. I HIGHLY suggest using a real bowl to heat in the microwave.

My secret for a great grilled cheese? Cook it slower than you think you should to get an evenly crispy exterior. Use LOTS of real cheese. American has its place, but I really prefer a great mix of cheddar, provolone, and/or colby jack.
